Building Capacity Through Training and Technical Assistance (TA)
At OASEE, we believe that strong communities and organizations are better equipped to respond to the challenges of opioid use disorder (OUD) and substance use disorder (SUD). Our training and technical assistance efforts are designed to strengthen the ability of individuals and organizations to plan, implement, and sustain effective strategies. This includes building skills, expanding knowledge, and enhancing the capacity of organizations to carry out their work with impact.Â
Our technical assistance team partners with subrecipients across Illinois to build the knowledge and capacity needed to:Â
- Understand how opioid abatement programs and services are reaching people most at risk or already affected by OUD/SUD.Â
- Identify practices and approaches that are making a measurable difference in reducing opioid misuse.Â
- Apply what works to improve program outcomes and extend the reach and effectiveness of their efforts.Â
By working together, we create opportunities for subrecipients to learn, adapt, and grow. Our goal is to ensure that local programs not only meet immediate needs but also develop the skills, tools, and strategies to sustain their impact over time.Â
Ways OASEE Provides TA
OASEE provides multiple forms of support, tailored to meet agencies’ needs. These include:Â
- Webinars – Single session, virtual events Â
- Office Hours – Monthly sessions where subrecipients can drop in to ask questions of subject matter experts from the TA team as well as their peers, get real-time troubleshooting support, and revisit evaluation materials.Â
- Individualized Technical Assistance – one-on-one sessions tailored to the unique needs of a subrecipient agency, including walkthroughs, troubleshooting, and specific support with evaluation data collection.Â
- Evaluation Workshops – regional, in-person gatherings to share evaluation findings, provide TA, and conduct focus groups to deepen learning and guide future evaluation and TA activities.Â
