AHP funds SAFE agencies to support the development, enhancement, and expansion of harm reduction services, focusing on the areas hardest hit by the overdose crisis and ensuring equitable access to services across diverse populations. SAFE funding will be used to enhance harm reduction efforts, such as the distribution of opioid overdose reversal medication, safer drug use supplies, and harm/risk reduction information to individuals at risk of overdose. SAFE funding will also be used to facilitate overdose education and health education among community members generally and among persons in active use of substances.
